What are we building?
We are building a brand new multi-purpose hall facility for our Parish family.
Why are we building it?
We need a facility at our site that can provide simultaneous meeting areas for our growing ministries and the necessary space for larger parish gatherings.
When will the new hall facility be built?
Once we have sixty percent of the funds in hand, construction can begin. Construction will take approximately twelve months to complete.
How much will the new facility cost?
The projected price for the construction and furnishings is $2,975,000 or $3,400,000 with a tornado shelter.
What is a Capital Stewardship Campaign?
A Capital Stewardship Campaign is a church project that seeks pledged donations from
members of the parish to be used in paying for a major construction project – in our case, a new hall facility.
How much money are we hoping to raise through the Capital Stewardship Campaign?
We hope to raise about 3 times our annual operating budget which would be between $2.9 to $3.4 million in funds.
Will I be pressured to make a pledge?
No. Participation in the campaign and how much you give will be entirely up to you. All parish members will be given the opportunity to contribute to this campaign.
How may I prepare to participate?
Allow God to speak to your heart through prayer. Read Scripture passages that speak about stewardship and giving, such as:
1 Corinthians 16:2, Proverbs 11:25, Proverbs 3:5-9, 2 Corinthians 8:7, Acts 20:35, Luke 6:38, Psalm 116:12
How long will my commitment be?
You are asked to make a 3 year commitment.
If I can’t give a large amount, does my pledge really matter?
Absolutely! All pledges matter, regardless of the amount, because we all participate according to our ability. Remember, it is not about equal gifts, but equal sacrifice.
When are we expected to give the amount pledged?
Pledge cards will be turned in on Commitment Sunday which is the weekend of March 14/15,and pledge payments can begin to be received shortly thereafter.
What forms of contributions will be accepted?
Contributions can be made by cash, check, marketable securities, gifts of grain, or other assets.
How do I make my checks payable?
Checks can be made payable to Prince of Peace Church – please write Together in Faith or “New Hall Campaign” in the check memo.
May I update my commitment after Commitment Sunday?
Yes. You may update your commitment at any time.
Do you have to be a parish member to participate in the campaign?
No. Anyone may contribute to our Together in Faith campaign for our new hall.
